At the end of the season all the club representatives come together for the League AGM.

The Charlie Duthie Fair Play Awards are presented to the team in each Division who, as deemed by the League Management Committee have shown the best examples of fair play over the whole season - taking into account, amongst other things, their disciplinary record and referee reports.

This season they were presented by Mr Graham Duthie who had this to say to the membership;

My father died in January 1995 and this is the 20th time that the Charlie Duthie Fair Play trophies have been awarded.

My brother and myself would like to thank all those responsible for keeping our father's name alive in a game that he loved so very much.

He would often come home and talk about the game he had refereed that morning and was always pleased when it had been played in a good spirit.

It was a very sad day for Charlie when he hung up his boots and put away his whistle at the age of 80 but I know that he would be very surprised to hear his name still being talked about 20 years after he died.

Thank you all once again.

The League Award of Merit, awarded to the person/team who the Management Committee feel has made a significant contribution to the League, was presented to Mrs Hazel Laurence, Secretary of Wivenhoe Old Boys.
